Learning outcomes
Understand key AI and machine-learning concepts, identify AI applications and their benefits and limitations, understand how computers learn from data, evaluate AI systems and their outputs, recognize risks including misinformation and deepfakes, understand data privacy issues, use generative AI responsibly, consider fairness, accountability and transparency, and develop informed opinions about how AI should be used.
Suggested activity
Use the “Understanding AI” lessons as an introduction, then complete the “Media literacy in the age of AI” activity to investigate misinformation and fact-checking, followed by “Using AI tools responsibly” where learners develop their own principles for responsible AI use.
