This infographic presents the most common types of misleading information (fake news) circulating in the media. It was developed as part of the European project Get Your Facts Straight, which provided media literacy education to students and young people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as to their parents and/or grandparents.

The Get Your Facts Straight resource is relevant to ENACT-AI because it helps young people recognise misleading information, fake news and other forms of media manipulation. These skills are increasingly important as artificial intelligence makes it easier to create and distribute convincing false or deceptive content, including synthetic images, text, audio and video.
The resource supports ENACT-AI’s goals of strengthening critical thinking, AI literacy and responsible democratic participation. By learning how to assess sources, verify information and distinguish facts from misleading claims, young people are better prepared to navigate digital media and make informed decisions as active citizens.
