Better Internet for Kids (BIK) is an EU-level online platform providing information, educational resources, guidance and learning materials that help children and young people navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. It also supports parents, caregivers, teachers and educators with resources on digital citizenship, online safety, media literacy, misinformation, privacy and artificial intelligence.
Why it matters for ENACT-AI
The platform is highly relevant to AI literacy because it includes resources addressing artificial intelligence, AI-generated content, misinformation, critical thinking, privacy, responsible technology use and the societal impact of digital technologies. Its resource directory contains dedicated AI-related educational materials.
Learning outcomes
Learners can develop basic AI and digital literacy; understand opportunities and risks associated with AI; critically evaluate online and AI-generated information; recognise misinformation and potentially misleading content; reflect on privacy, safety and responsible technology use; and develop more informed and responsible digital citizenship.
Suggested activity
AI Information Detective: Select one AI-related BIK resource and ask learners to analyse an AI-generated or AI-related claim/content. In groups, they identify the source, check the information against two reliable sources, discuss possible bias or misinformation, and create a short “5 rules for checking AI information” poster/checklist. Finish with a discussion about responsible and safe use of AI.
