Why it matters for ENACT-AI

The resource encourages critical reflection on data, transparency, accountability and the societal consequences of AI systems. It is particularly relevant for developing informed and responsible attitudes towards AI. K

Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to:

explain basic concepts related to artificial intelligence;
identify potential benefits and risks of AI in everyday life;
understand the importance of data for AI systems;
recognise challenges related to transparency and explainability;
critically reflect on how AI can influence individuals and society;
identify situations in which AI-based decisions may create risks or unintended consequences;
formulate questions about the responsible development and use of AI.

Suggested activity

“AI: Opportunity or Risk?” – Structured Debate.
Students work in small groups and identify examples of AI applications from everyday life. For each example, they analyse potential benefits, risks, data requirements and questions of transparency. Groups then present their findings and take part in a structured debate on whether the selected AI application should be used, under which conditions, and who should be responsible when things go wrong.
